2002 ANZSES SOLAR TRAILER DISPLAY

This solar display trailer was designed by me for the Solar Energy Society to enthuse and educate the public at various gatherings about how to utilise solar energy in their homes.

We bought a standard trailer with opening upward flaps and arranged various explanatory displays such as crystaline and amorphous panels with separate wattage outputs that could be compared. They were both rotatable on altitude and azimuth so that the viewer could see how the output varied with angle – very useful.

Solar water heating had a working device with circulating water, and charts were displayed to assist people to assess their own home for suitability for photovoltaic panels.

It was painted bright yellow with blue lettering and a few volunteers were on hand to explain the technicalities.
