1950 TRIAL FURNITURE – For house OB1 in DeeWhy quarry

In the middle of building my first Australian house in the DeeWhy quarry I needed furniture.

The sun lounge simply grew out of some scrap material left over from building the house and was useful for the occasional moments when I needed a rest in the glorious Australian sunlight – what a change from Oldham !

The dining chair utilised some left over laminated ply legs from DESCON which had started up in Brookvale just south of DeeWhy to make modern furniture.

These would have been my first tentative attempts at furniture design in Australia – somewhat clumsy and inelegant but pragmatic.
