1960 GOOD DESIGN LABEL Industrial Design Council of Australia

Sometime around 1960 the IDCA initiated the “Good Design” label for Australian products made in Australia and Ron Rosenfeldt and I were asked to produce a swing tag or label that could be issued to manufacturers who submitted their products for assessment as to its suitability to carry the label.

Assessment panels were set up for different types of products and I sat on quite a few of them over the years.

It proved to be an effective marketing tool for manufacturers and consumers.
