1963 SIGN IN THE LOBBY OF THE R.G.MENZIES BUILDING OF THE UNIVERSITY LIBRARY

By 1963 I had established the ANU typeface for signage as a version of Garamond Bold suitable for reading as building names as well as street signs. I felt at the time that it had the heritage quality appropriate to a university situation with a good balance between thicks and thins for legibility.

This sign was made with cut out plastic letters.
